I can so relate to all of this. Enablers would rather believe (and even spread) convenient lies rather than listen to inconvenient truths. It seems to stem from the trait of agreeableness - some people would rather have harmony within the group rather than face cold, hard truths that someone within that group is a cold and manipulative person.
