The COVID-19 vaccine and its effect on a writing schedule: I got my second COVID-19 vaccine (the Pfizer one) this past Sunday, four weeks after the first dose.

I didn’t have extreme side effects. My arm hurt a little, but I never had severe body aches. I never had a headache or nausea. I had a mild fever (maximum 100.7F). I was still plenty capable of going to work and doing chores around the house.

Yet my head was too cloudy to write. The week I got my first COVID vaccine was the only Sunday-Saturday week of calendar 2021 when I wrote fewer than 5 long-form articles. It’s Wednesday and I’ve only written one (prior to going to…
