Very well said. When I worked in IT, I was by no means the best programmer out there, but I got far in the profession because of my ability to distill highly technical concepts down to a lay person. If you learn a programming language, you may be learning something that will be totally obsolete in 5 years. Communication skills, on the other hand, are evergreen.
